Literacy, basic mathematical knowledge, and social skills are key factors for successful integration into the labor market. A lack of competencies in these areas can pose a barrier to effective labor market participation, especially for adults with low qualifications, including migrants, refugees, and local residents.
The project “WORKPLACE BASIC SKILLS” focuses on improving the fundamental skills of adults with low levels of education, with an emphasis on four professional sectors: “Construction,” “Social Care and Healthcare,” “Tourism,” and “Cleaning Industry.”
The initiative acknowledges the limitations of purely theoretical approaches and offers an innovative method based on digital educational tools and storytelling. By taking on the roles of four characters, learners can experience typical professional situations and develop their responses based on the application of basic skills, particularly essential in these professions. The tasks are examples from the daily work life in four selected professions across different sectors. Given its practical focus and interactive concept, the application builds competence through numerous recreated situations.
